More info...

A quote left in draft keeps the prices that applied on the day it was written. When your catalogue changes, Dolibarr only offers a workaround: clone the quote with the "Update prices" option, then delete the original. The quote then gets a new reference.

This module adds a Refresh prices button on the quote, and updates the prices in place.

You see before anything is written

The preview screen shows, line by line: the current price, the catalogue price, the VAT rate, the discount and the difference in euros. The difference accounts for the discount, and the total at the bottom follows the boxes you tick: what the screen announces is exactly what will be written.

The price used is Dolibarr's own

The calculation reproduces exactly what the software does when cloning with "Update prices": product base price, price level of the customer when multi-prices are enabled, customer-specific price when its validity period covers today.

What the module leaves alone

  • Free lines, with no linked product: their price was typed by hand. They appear in the preview, marked as unchanged.
  • Validated quotes: the button only appears on drafts.
  • Orders and invoices: an order is a commitment, its price has been agreed. Refreshing it would overwrite a contractual price.
  • Quantities, descriptions and dates.

Negotiated discounts are kept by default, unlike cloning, which replaces them with the customer's default discount. A setting allows the other behaviour.

Security: a dedicated permission and write access on commercial proposals, Dolibarr's standard access control on the quote itself, external users only see the quotes of their own third party, CSRF token on the form. Every price is recomputed server-side when applying: no price coming from the form is ever used.

Writing is transactional and logged. The module creates no table: disabling it leaves nothing behind.

Dolibarr 19 to 24, PHP 7.4 minimum, Commercial proposals module required.
