Duplicate finder

After a few years of use, the same record often ends up entered twice, with the same email written differently. This module finds them and lets you clean up safely.

What Dolibarr cannot do

Dolibarr merges third parties and, since version 23, members. There is no native merge for contacts, nor for members before version 23: this module adds it. Everything pointing at the deleted record is moved onto the one you keep: linked documents and elements, events, categories, notifications, subscriptions, partnerships and the linked user account.

Matching criteria

• Same email - case and spaces ignored
• Same name - accents, punctuation and legal form ignored
• Same phone - format ignored
• Same VAT or company registration number
• For contacts and members: first and last name in any order

Exact match after normalisation: no fuzzy score, so no invented false positives.

Safety: read-only scan, mandatory preview, explicit confirmation, transactional merge. Multi-company aware, external users confined. Full merge history.

Compatible with Dolibarr V19 to V24.

Limitations and exclusions

• The module detects and suggests; you choose the record to keep, group by group. There is no merging of all groups at once.
• Exact matching after normalisation: a typo or one extra letter is not matched.
• Third parties, contacts and members only (members when the Members module is enabled): no products, projects or invoices.
• A merge deletes the merged record; the module has no function to undo a merge.
• Contacts and members: the merge writes directly to the database, without Dolibarr triggers or agenda events, and attached files stay in the deleted record's folder. Third parties go through Dolibarr's native merge.

• Orders, invoices and refunds: handled by the DoliStore.
