Mass edit (bulk update) of third parties and contacts

The Bulk field update module changes one field on many records at once, safely and without writing any SQL. Ideal to switch customers to prospects, disable a batch of third parties, flag suppliers, and more.

Key features:

• Works on third parties (customer/prospect status, supplier, active/disabled) and contacts (active/disabled).
• Before / after preview of every record before applying.
• Optional filters: on the current value, and by name/email.
• Row-by-row selection: apply only what you want.
• Transactional (all or nothing) with server-side re-check.
• Configurable safety cap on the number of records per operation.
• Optional operation history and a dedicated settings page.

Strict allow-list: only the intended objects, fields and values can ever be changed. Permission-controlled and CSRF-protected. Compatible with Dolibarr V19 to V24.

Tested on Dolibarr 19.0.4, 20.0.4, 21.0.4, 22.0.5, 23.0.4, 24.0.1 and 24.0.2, with PHP 8.2; syntax checked with PHP 7.4, 8.3 and 8.4.

Limitations and exclusions

• Four fields on two objects: customer/prospect status, supplier and active/disabled for third parties; active/disabled for contacts. No products, quotes, invoices, projects or members; no complementary attributes, categories, prices or contact details.
• One field per operation. Above 1,000 records per operation (adjustable limit), applying is blocked: the filters must be narrowed.
• Written directly to the database: Dolibarr's triggers are not run and no event is created in the agenda.
• No one-click undo: the module's history says what was done, it does not undo it.
• Interface in French and English.
