Adds a Planned days field on commercial proposals and automatically computes the margin per day (total margin of all lines, labour included, divided by the planned days).

Shown on the proposal card and as a sortable column in the proposals list. It reuses Dolibarr official margin calculation, so figures match the standard Margins block.

Made for craftsmen and service companies who want to compare the profitability of their jobs before accepting them.

  • Compatible with Dolibarr 19 to 24.
  • Requires the Proposals module; buy prices must be filled on the lines for the margin to be meaningful.
  • Licence: GPL v3+.

Tested on Dolibarr 19.0.4, 20.0.4, 21.0.4, 22.0.5, 23.0.4, 24.0.1 and 24.0.2, with PHP 8.2; syntax checked with PHP 7.4, 8.3 and 8.4.

Limitations and exclusions

  • Commercial proposals only: not orders, invoices or projects.
  • The margin is based on the cost prices entered on the proposal lines. In the list column, a line without a cost price is counted with a cost price of zero.
  • The number of days is entered by hand: it is not worked out from tasks, time spent or quantities.
  • No dedicated permission: anyone who can open a proposal sees its margin per day.
  • The margin per day is not printed on PDF documents.

  • Help with installation or activation errors, behaviour that differs from this page, and questions on how to use it.

  • Problems in Dolibarr itself or in other modules: an opinion and a lead when possible, with no commitment to a result.
  • On-call service: no evening or weekend cover.
  • Orders, invoices and refunds: handled by the DoliStore.
