Office Editor opens Dolibarr documents in LibreOffice, running in your browser (WebAssembly). No more downloading a file, editing it on the computer and uploading it again: you open it, edit it and save it without leaving Dolibarr. No external service: the engine ships with the module and everything stays on your server.

Features
Seven formats
ODT, ODS, ODP, ODG and Microsoft DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, each saved back in its own format (a warning reminds that the layout of Microsoft formats may change slightly).
Edit icon everywhere
on these files in attached files, generated documents and the ECM, plus an ODT and ODS templates page for administrators.
Save in place
with a check of the format and a size limit; the previous version is kept by DoliTrashCan when it is enabled.
Per-file lock
one user edits at a time, the others open read-only or take over a stale lock.
Dolibarr rights respected
write right on the document's object, external users excluded.
Interface in five languages
LibreOffice in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian, following the user's language; number and date formats follow the user's locale.
Spell checking
and hyphenation in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
Open-source engine
LibreOffice 26.8.1 compiled to WebAssembly by Net Logic, distributed under the GNU GPL v3, complete source at https://github.com/Net-Logic/lowa-build.

Requirements
  • Interface languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish
  • The PHP zip extension.
  • HTTPS (or localhost): the editor page needs cross-origin isolation.
  • A recent desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) with enough memory; mobile devices are not supported.
  • About 58 MB of engine, downloaded once by each browser and then cached.

Installation
  1. Deploy the zip with Home → Setup → Modules → Deploy an external module.
  2. Enable Office Editor.
  3. Give the permissions to your users.
  4. Click the edit icon next to a document in any attached files list.
