Returnable packaging

A brewery, a drinks wholesaler or a supplier delivering on pallets charges a deposit and refunds it when the packaging comes back. Dolibarr invoices and refunds, but does not tell how much packaging each customer still holds, nor since when.

Returnable packaging adds two fields to products ("Returnable packaging", "Return delay") and keeps the register from your invoices, with no double entry:

• validated invoice: the invoiced packaging is counted at the customer;
• negative line on the next invoice or credit note: it is counted as returned;
• invoice set back to draft, deleted or replaced: the register follows.

On each customer card and in an overview: packaging at the customer, deposit value, oldest unreturned delivery and overdue packaging (returns settle the oldest deliveries first). Opening balance entry, stock-count corrections, register rebuild from existing invoices.

Packaging not returned in time can be "considered as sold": it leaves the balance and appears in a report for the accountant, with no invoice (the customer already paid the deposit). The module sets no VAT rate: it uses your packaging product's rate. Interface in French, English and German. Compatible with Dolibarr 19 to 24. Written and tested by Dolix (dolix.fr).
