Creative PDF Templates: Visual Document Editor for Dolibarr

PDF documents that look like you, without writing a line of code

The PDF templates shipped with Dolibarr are reliable but all alike: changing a color, moving a block or adding a notice requires a developer. Creative PDF Templates gives you a visual editor to design your own quotes, orders, invoices and manufacturing orders: you see the page exactly as it will be printed, you move elements around, and a PDF preview on a real document shows you the result in one click.

A drag-and-drop visual editor

• Page displayed at actual size (A4…), with margins, header and footer.
• Ready-to-use components: document fields, lines table, totals, VAT table, payment terms, image, logo, QR code, barcode, page number, page break.
• Data is shown as readable tags (“Reference”, “Customer”…) that display the actual value.
• Conditional display: show a block only if the document has a discount, a deposit, a delivery date…
• Reusable blocks: an address, legal notices or a footer entered once and shared by all your templates.
• Light or dark theme, saving with version history, draft kept if you leave the page.

As many templates as you want, based on premium designs

No limits: create one template per business line, brand, language or key customer. So you don't start from a blank page, the catalog provides premium designs to import, duplicate and transform freely: they are starting points, not a fixed choice.

1. Choose: browse the catalog and preview each design as a PDF on one of your own documents.
2. Import in your colors: the same design can be imported several times, in several variations.
3. Duplicate and adapt: blocks, columns, fonts, page background, notices… the result is your own template.

Each premium design provides:

• a complete set of quote, order and invoice, with the same header and footer;
• vector page backgrounds (first page and following pages);
• your primary, secondary and text colors, which can be changed even after import across all documents of the design at once;
• professional fonts included (Poppins, Montserrat, Lato, Oswald, Open Sans, Work Sans, Inter, Playfair Display);
• useful notices already in place: “Approved for agreement” on the quote, mandatory legal notices on the invoice.

The catalog also offers standard templates, blocks and page layouts, and grows with each new version of the module.

Letterhead, terms and conditions, and multi-part documents

• Page layouts: format, margins, header on every page, on the first page only or different on the first page, footer with “page 2 / 3” numbering.
• PDF background: use your existing letterhead as the page background.
• Sections: a document can chain pages created in the editor with PDFs (general terms and conditions of sale, technical data sheet, brochure) or even a standard Dolibarr PDF template.

A truly customizable lines table

• Columns of your choice (product photo, reference, description, quantity, price, discount, VAT…), with adjustable alignment and widths.
• Title and subtotal lines from subtotal modules (Dolibarr's Subtotals module and the “subtotal” module) printed as such, with the block amount and your colors.
• Extra fields (extrafields) of the document, the third party and the lines, just like in Dolibarr templates.

Integrated into Dolibarr

• Your templates appear in the PDF template list on quote, order, invoice and manufacturing order cards, and can be set as the default template.
• Generation from the card, from mass actions and anywhere Dolibarr generates a PDF.
• Language variants: the document is produced in the customer's language when a variant exists.
• Dolibarr's “draft” watermark is respected.
• Invoices: optional PDF/A-3 conversion, compatible with Factur-X modules.
• Dedicated permissions: who can create templates, blocks and page layouts, publish, and use advanced editing.

Faithful rendering

The module relies on a modern rendering engine (Gotenberg, recommended, or Chrome / Chromium) to produce a PDF identical to what you see in the editor. This engine is essential for a faithful result. Without it, a TCPDF fallback mode can help in a pinch, but it does not respect the layout of your templates (positions, columns, fonts, colors) and does not support premium designs: it should be avoided. The “PDF Engines” tab in the configuration detects what is installed, tests generation and provides installation examples.

For integrators and developers

• About twenty shortcodes documented in the configuration ([field], [lines], [if]…[else]…[/if], [totals], [vat_table], [qrcode]…) plus Dolibarr's __XXX__ substitution keys.
• Hooks to add your own shortcodes, line types and editor components, with a sample module.

Compatibility

• Dolibarr 19 to 24, PHP 7.4 or higher.
• Gotenberg (Docker) or Chrome / Chromium recommended for premium designs.
• Interface in French and English.

The latest versions of our modules are available on Dolistore, and access is free for one year from the purchase date.
