The problem it solves

Attaching paper to a Dolibarr record is usually a detour: you scan with the maker's software, the file lands in a folder, you hunt for it, upload it by hand and rename it. Along the way the document is left half done, or it never arrives. EasyScan puts the scanning inside the record itself, right where the document belongs.

What you run into What it costs you
You scan with the scanner's own software and the PDF lands on the desktop or in Downloads. You have to go back to the record, find the file and upload it. Twice the work for every document.
Every scan is saved under a different name, whatever the scanner says or none at all. A month later nobody knows which PDF is which, and you open them one by one.
A forty-page stack comes out as a single PDF. Splitting it later with another tool costs more than having split it while scanning.
You scan the day's mail before knowing which record it goes to. It piles up on the desktop and some papers never make it into Dolibarr.
The PDF is a photo: you cannot search or copy the text. Finding one specific line means reading page after page by eye.

A document belongs in its record, not on the desktop of whoever scanned it.

A Scan button in the Documents tab of 28 record types and a floating button on all their tabs. Capture with your phone or laptop camera, with the document detected live and self-capture, or with the scanner through the local connector for Windows, bundled with the module. Automatic cropping and straightening with a corner editor. Crisp document finish: white paper, black ink and the colour of stamps and signatures. Blank pages set aside on their own. Split into documents by blank sheet, by QR or barcode, every N pages or by hand. And searchable text (OCR) read in the browser itself. The PDF lands in the record or, if you do not know where it goes yet, in the scanning inbox to file later. And for multifunction printers and scanners that can only "scan to folder", the watched folder: the connector watches a folder on the computer and uploads on its own whatever appears, which lands in the inbox with the origin "Folder". It is an optional feature, switched on with a token created in the settings and pasted into the connector.

Only users with the permission who can also add documents there see it.

Searchable PDF, filed in its place
Searchable text (OCR) read in the browser and added to the PDF as an invisible layer; one PDF per document or each page separately, as PDF or JPG; the file is saved in the record's folder and in the document index, never overwriting an existing one.

What it's used for

  • Save the signed delivery note on the shipment at delivery time, from your phone.
  • Attach a supplier's paper invoice to its invoice in Dolibarr.
  • Run a stack of documents through the feeder and split it into several PDFs at once.
  • Scan the day's mail before you know which record it belongs to and file it later from the inbox.

Getting started

Install the module and activate it. Activating creates the inbox table, the Scanning menu and the permissions.

Give the Use EasyScan permission to whoever will scan (and Use the inbox if they will scan without a record). They must log in again to see them.

On a record, click Scan (Documents tab) or the floating button. Choose camera or scanner and capture the pages.

Check corners, finish and order; split the batch if it holds several documents and click Save as PDF. The document stays in the record.

Before you buy

Can I adapt it to my case?
Yes. You receive the full source code and you can read, change and adapt it without asking permission.
How do I try it without risking my data?
Install it on a test copy of your Dolibarr. The camera and the scanner need HTTPS; everything else works the same locally. Saving creates real documents on the record, so try it on a test third party or invoice and delete what you generate.
What if something does not fit my setup?
Email us at info@easysoft.es before you buy and we will look at it with you. We would rather tell you it is not a fit than sell you something that is no use.
What happens when the 365 days end?
The module and the connector keep working as they are, with no usage limit. The 365 days cover updates: during that time you get every new version; after that you can renew to keep receiving them.

Active maintenance

EasyScan is at 0.2.4, tested with the same code on Dolibarr 10.0.0, 18.0.8 and 24.0.1. The Windows connector installer travels inside the module, with its SHA-256 fingerprint to check it and a guide to the Windows warnings during installation. The interface is in 8 languages and Dolibarr itself carries the user guide and the change log in the Help tab. Every new version is published with its change log.
