PrestaNexus — Dolibarr ⇄ PrestaShop Synchronisation

The complete, bidirectional ERP / e-commerce bridge between Dolibarr ERP/CRM and one or several PrestaShop stores.

1. Overview

PrestaNexus turns Dolibarr into the real back office of your PrestaShop business. Customers, addresses, catalogue, combinations, stock, prices, orders, invoices, payments, credit notes and shipments flow automatically between both applications, in the direction you choose for each type of data.

Built for production, the module relies on a professional synchronisation engine: persistent job queue, automatic retries, duplicate and loop protection, conflict management, dry-run before import and complete logging. It works without any modification of the Dolibarr or PrestaShop core.

3. Detailed features

3.1 Connection and multi-store

• Connection wizard: URL, Webservice key, store and store group, language, currency, warehouse, price level, synchronisation mode.
• "Test connection" button: PrestaShop version, adapter in use, store name, languages, currencies, multistore, volumes and missing Webservice permissions.
• Automatic discovery pre-filling mappings: languages, currencies, taxes, carriers, order statuses and customer groups.
• 10-step first synchronisation wizard, from connection to initial import.

3.2 Catalogue

• Products and services: reference, EAN, UPC, ISBN, MPN, name, descriptions, weight and dimensions, cost, status, categories, brand, SEO fields and translations.
• PrestaShop combinations synchronised with Dolibarr variants: attributes, values, reference, EAN, price and weight impact.
• Categories with full tree and default category.
• Brands and manufacturers, represented in Dolibarr as dedicated categories.
• Main and additional images, with fingerprint detection so an identical image is never sent again.
• Filters: selected categories only, active products only, by product type.

3.3 Stock

• Dolibarr master, PrestaShop master or bidirectional modes.
• Real or virtual stock, computed on one or several Dolibarr warehouses (several warehouses can feed one store).
• Anti-loop protection: a quantity sent to PrestaShop is never imported back as a new change.

3.4 Prices and taxes

• Tax-excluded price as reference, Dolibarr price levels, customer-specific prices.
• PrestaShop tax rules mapped to Dolibarr VAT rates per country, never creating duplicate rates.
• Exact decimal calculations without rounding errors, multi-currency support.

3.5 Customers, contacts and addresses

• Automatic creation of Dolibarr third parties from PrestaShop customers, both consumers and businesses (company, registration number, VAT number).
• Duplicate prevention strategies: external ID, e-mail, VAT number, company registration number, reference; ambiguous cases are reported instead of creating a duplicate.
• Billing and delivery addresses synchronised with Dolibarr contacts.
• Option to automatically create a PrestaShop account for every new Dolibarr customer.

3.6 Orders and statuses

• Automatic import of PrestaShop orders: customer, addresses, lines and combinations, discounts, shipping, gift wrapping, message, payment method, carrier and currency.
• Totals control: any difference between PrestaShop and Dolibarr is reported in the order note.
• Unknown products: free line, product import or blocking error, as you prefer.
• Status mapping screen: each PrestaShop state triggers a Dolibarr action (validate, cancel, close…) and each Dolibarr event can update the PrestaShop state.

3.7 Invoices, payments and credit notes

• Dolibarr invoice created automatically according to the selected rule: order validated, payment accepted, order shipped or delivered.
• Payment import with payment method mapping (Stripe, PayPal, bank wire, cash on delivery…) and bank account; a payment is never recorded twice nor above the remaining amount.
• PrestaShop credit slips imported as Dolibarr credit notes, with optional restocking.

3.8 Shipments and tracking

Validating a shipment in Dolibarr updates the PrestaShop order: tracking number, carrier and "Shipped" state, with optional customer e-mail.

3.9 Mappings and business rules

• Value mapping: statuses, payment methods, taxes, carriers, warehouses, languages, currencies, customer groups.
• Field Mapping Builder: Dolibarr extrafields ⇄ PrestaShop fields, with text, number, date, boolean, list or JSON conversion.
• No-code business rule engine, for example: "if the store is France and the order exceeds €500, assign sales representative X".

3.10 Reliability and performance

• Persistent job queue: no heavy synchronisation ever runs during a web request.
• Automatic retries with exponential backoff; a failed operation is never lost and can be retried.
• Job isolation: an error on one product never stops the synchronisation of the others.
• Idempotence, fingerprint-based change detection, delta synchronisation.
• Conflict Center: Dolibarr value, PrestaShop value and previous value side by side, resolved in one click.
• Rate limiting and circuit breaker so the store is never overloaded; progressive recovery after an outage.
• Dry-run mode: number of items to create, update, unchanged, in conflict or in error, without modifying any data.

3.11 Monitoring

3.12 Security and GDPR

• 12 distinct Dolibarr permissions: read, administration, synchronisation per domain, logs, conflicts, retries, mappings, purge.
• Deletions are never propagated by default: archiving or deactivation is preferred.
• Export and anonymisation of a customer's synchronisation data; administrator notifications (e-mail, agenda, webhook).

4. Synchronisation matrix

The direction of each object is set store by store. "—" marks an operation the APIs do not allow (for example, the PrestaShop Webservice cannot create an invoice).

5. Requirements

• Dolibarr 17 or later, PHP 7.1 or later with the curl, openssl, json, dom, simplexml and mbstring extensions.
• Dolibarr modules: Third parties, Products, Orders, Invoices and Scheduled jobs; optional: Stock, Variants, Multicurrency, Banks.
• PrestaShop 1.6.1 to 9.x with the Webservice enabled and an API key with the required permissions; HTTPS recommended.
• For real time: the supplied PrestaShop companion module "nxwebhook".

6. Installation

• In Dolibarr: Home → Setup → Modules → Deploy/install external module, then upload prestanexus-1.0.zip.
• Enable the PrestaNexus module in the module list.
• In PrestaShop: enable the Webservice and create an API key with the permissions listed in the manual.
• In Dolibarr: PrestaShop → Configuration → Connections → New connection, then "Test connection".
• Run the first synchronisation wizard (mappings, dry-run, initial import).
• Make sure Dolibarr scheduled jobs run (system crontab) and, for real time, install the nxwebhook companion module.

7. Compatibility

The code ships with 469 automated tests (engine, API, business services). The detailed matrix is available in docs/TEST_MATRIX.md.

8. Known limitations

• Customer passwords cannot be transferred: customers use "forgot password".
• PrestaShop merchandise returns are not exposed by the Webservice: they are handled through credit slips.
• Stock of lot or serial-number managed products cannot be corrected from PrestaShop.
• Catalog price rules and voucher codes have no Dolibarr equivalent: they are imported as order discounts.

9. Frequently asked questions

Does the module modify Dolibarr or PrestaShop?

No. It only uses official mechanisms: module, triggers, hooks, Webservice and a standard PrestaShop companion module.

Can an order be imported twice?

No. Each order is uniquely identified; the same event received several times never creates a duplicate.

What happens if the store is unavailable?

Jobs stay in the queue, the circuit breaker suspends calls then resumes progressively, with no loss and no duplication.

Can I test before importing my data?

Yes, dry-run mode shows what would be created, updated or in conflict without changing anything.

Can I connect several stores?

Yes, with no limit, each with its own configuration.
