Dolibarr preferred partner

Your online shop, built on Dolibarr, with UltimateMarketPlace

The UltimateMarketPlace module turns Dolibarr into a single-vendor online marketplace. It provides a ready-to-use website template for the Dolibarr Website module: product catalog, cart, checkout, customer accounts and download area.

The catalog, customers, orders and invoices stay natively in Dolibarr: no CMS or third-party e-commerce platform to synchronize. The module is a simplified fork of the "Marketplace" module that runs dolistore.com, without the multi-vendor workflow and without what is specific to the Dolibarr association.

🛒 What the module brings

✅ Complete website template imported on activation ✅ Catalog taken from a Dolibarr product category
✅ Cart, checkout and customer accounts ✅ Online payment through the Dolibarr modules (Stripe, PayPal…)
✅ Download area for the purchased files ✅ Validity period and subscriptions per price level
✅ Coupon codes per product, limited in dates and uses ✅ Automatic discounts per customer category
✅ Home page carousel, logo and theme colors ✅ Friendly URLs, sitemap.xml, robots.txt and llms.txt
✅ Captcha (reCAPTCHA, Turnstile) and login attempt limiting ✅ Matomo Analytics and sales statistics

🧩 The buying journey

On the customer side, the shop offers:

  1. a catalog organized by categories, with "New" and "Specials" badges;

  2. a product page showing the price (category discount already applied) and, for products with price levels, the choice of the duration;

  3. a cart where a coupon code can be entered;

  4. a checkout linked to the chosen online payment module;

  5. a customer area: personal information, addresses, order history and downloads.

Validating the cart creates a standard Dolibarr order, the payment a standard Dolibarr invoice. The Marketplace menu of the back office gives access to the invoice, customer and product statistics, to the list of sales and to the shopping carts.

🛠️ Module configuration

Settings Shop name, description and email, maintenance mode, catalog categories, category of new customers, logo, colors, friendly URLs, email templates
Setup of payments Blocking of sales, payment method, automatic closing of paid orders, payment in a frame of the shop
Coupon codes Percentage or fixed amount, validity dates, maximum number of uses
Category discounts One customer category, one product category, one percentage
Security Captcha and protection against repeated login attempts
Matomo Analytics Audience tracking of the website, Matomo statistics in Dolibarr
Carousel Home page slides, transition, speed
Setup of API server Key of the two public read-only endpoints (categories and products), when the REST API module is enabled

Two more tabs complete the configuration: User guide, the complete guide in the user's language, and About.

🔐 Access

The module declares no permission of its own: its setup pages are reserved for Dolibarr administrators, and the shop uses its own customer session. The back office menus follow the native permissions on products, orders and invoices.

🆕 What's new in version 24.0

  • Dolibarr 24 compatibility, PHP 8.2 minimum, tested up to PHP 8.5. The numbering is aligned with Dolibarr: after 1.0.8 comes 24.0.0.

  • The cart block of the shop is now translated (it displayed raw keys such as "quantity" or "FreeShipping").

  • Missing labels of the shop and of the administration added, and complete translation into German, Spanish and Italian.

  • Check for a new version from the list of modules.

  • User guide and wiki documentation updated. The built-in guide is now text only; the screenshots, in the five languages, are on the wiki.

📖 Built-in user guide

A complete guide in French, English, German, Spanish and Italian can be read directly from the module configuration, User guide tab, in the language of the interface. It is updated with every version. The screenshots are on the wiki page of the module.

⚙️ Requirements

Dolibarr Version 25.x
PHP Version 8.2 minimum, tested up to PHP 8.5
conf.php Line $dolibarr_website_allow_custom_php = '1'; (or '2' if the PHP system functions are not disabled): without it, Dolibarr refuses to import the shop pages, which contain PHP code
Dolibarr modules Website, Third parties, Products, Services, Categories, Sales orders, Invoices, Banks and Emailing, enabled automatically with the module
Payment A configured Dolibarr online payment module (Stripe, PayPal…) to collect the orders
Libraries michelf/php-markdown is shipped with the module: no Composer installation is needed

⚙️ Installation

The module zip weighs about 1.2 MB: it stays under the 2 MB upload limit applied by default by Dolibarr and PHP, so it installs directly with method 1.

Method 1: installation through the Dolibarr interface

  1. Home → Setup → Modules/Applications, Deploy/install external app/module tab.

  2. Choose the module .zip file, then click Send file.

Method 2: manual installation on the server (SSH)

  1. Copy the zip to the server and unpack it: unzip module_ultimatemarketplace-X.Y.Z.zip -d /tmp/ultimatemarketplace_zip

  2. Copy the module directory: cp -r /tmp/ultimatemarketplace_zip/htdocs/ultimatemarketplace /path/to/dolibarr/htdocs/custom/

  3. Give the files to the web server user if needed: chown -R www-data:www-data /path/to/dolibarr/htdocs/custom/ultimatemarketplace

  4. Check that the module is in htdocs/custom/ultimatemarketplace (and not htdocs/custom/htdocs/ultimatemarketplace).

Method 3: upload by FTP / SFTP

  1. Unpack the zip on your computer: it contains an htdocs directory, which itself contains the ultimatemarketplace directory.

  2. With an FTP/SFTP client (FileZilla for example), upload the ultimatemarketplace directory (neither the zip nor the surrounding htdocs directory) into the Dolibarr custom directory (the one next to admin, core, conf…; depending on the host, in htdocs, httpdocs, www or public_html).

  3. Check that the path …/custom/ultimatemarketplace/core/modules/modUltimateMarketPlace.class.php exists.

Then

  1. Add the $dolibarr_website_allow_custom_php line to conf/conf.php (see the requirements).

  2. Enable the module from Home → Setup → Modules, Websites and other frontal application family: the shop website is created automatically.

  3. Configure the tabs in this order: Settings, Setup of payments, Security, then disable the maintenance mode.

  4. Update from a previous version: replace the ultimatemarketplace directory, disable then enable the module again (the settings are kept), then, in maintenance mode, click Reset website template in the Settings tab.

🧭 Typical use cases

  • Software and module publishers: sell downloadable files, with version numbers and links that expire at the end of the subscription.

  • Service providers: offer packages or subscriptions in several durations thanks to price levels.

  • Small businesses: open an online shop without running a second tool, stock and invoicing staying in Dolibarr.

  • B2B sales: automatically grant preferential prices to a customer category.

  • Promotional campaigns: launch coupon codes limited in time or in number of uses.

❓ FAQ

  • Does the module modify the Dolibarr core?
No. UltimateMarketPlace relies on the Dolibarr Website module and on its standard objects, without modifying the Dolibarr files.

  • The shop is empty after activation?
Check the $dolibarr_website_allow_custom_php line in conf.php, then disable and enable the module again.

  • The cart displays "quantity" or "FreeShipping"?
The website still uses the pages of a previous version: in maintenance mode, click Reset website template in the Settings tab.

  • What is the difference between a coupon code and a category discount?
The coupon code is entered by the buyer and applies to one given product. The category discount is automatic for the customers of a category, as soon as they are logged in.

  • The customer cannot download the purchased product?
In the Shop files tab of the product, tick a file as "Main file" or "Visible to customer".

  • Does the module handle several vendors?
No. UltimateMarketPlace is a single-vendor shop: you sell your own products and services.

Why use UltimateMarketPlace?

  • Sell online without depending on an external e-commerce platform

  • Keep products, customers, orders and invoices in a single tool

  • Deliver the purchased files automatically

  • Boost sales with coupon codes and category discounts

  • Take care of SEO and track the audience without Google Analytics

  • Protect customer accounts with captcha and login limiting

⚠️ Important recommendation

As with any module, test UltimateMarketPlace on a test instance before using it in production.

Before starting, make a full backup of:

  • The Dolibarr database

  • The Dolibarr documents directory

After enabling it, keep the maintenance mode on while you configure the shop, then place a test order from start to finish before opening the website to the public.
