Dolibarr AI Suite

AI Suite integrates an AI assistant panel into Dolibarr ERP, offering context-aware help with a sleek, slide-in interface and real-time streaming responses. Your ERP database data is never sent to AI providers. The AI simply interprets your natural language requests, then Dolibarr handles all the actual data operations internally.

Features

Specialized AI Assistants

AI Suite comes with three specialized AI assistants, each designed for different tasks:

• **Search Assistant** — Helps you find records in your ERP using natural language. 
• **Form Filling Assistant** — Lets you fill out forms quickly using natural language instead of manually entering data field by field.
• **General Inquiry Assistant** — Your built-in Dolibarr expert. Ask it any questions about how to use Dolibarr ERP, and it'll guide you through.

Requirements

• **Dolibarr**: Version 17.0 or higher
• **PHP**: Version 7.4 or higher
• **Extensions**: cURL extension enabled
• **API Key**: Valid API key from at least one provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini)
• **Internet**: Connection required for API access to your chosen provider

Installation

Method 1: Manual Installation

1.  Copy the module to Dolibarr's custom directory: /path/to/dolibarr/htdocs/custom/
2. Activate the module
   - Log in to Dolibarr as an administrator
   - Navigate to: **Home** → **Setup** → **Modules**
   - Find "AI Suite" in the module list
   - Click the **Activate** button

Method 2: Using Dolibarr's Module Manager

1. Package the `aisuite` folder as a ZIP file
2. Log in to Dolibarr as an administrator
3. Navigate to: **Home** → **Setup** → **Modules**
4. Click **Deploy external module**
5. Upload the ZIP file
6. Activate the module

Configuration

1. Set up AI Provider and API Key

1. Navigate to: **Home** → **Setup** → **Modules** → **AI Suite** → **Settings**
2. Select your **AI Provider**: OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini
3. Enter the API key for your chosen provider:
   - **OpenAI**: [OpenAI Platform](https://platform.openai.com/api-keys)
   - **Anthropic**: [Anthropic Console](https://console.anthropic.com/settings/keys)
   - **Google Gemini**: [Google AI Studio](https://aistudio.google.com/app/apikey)
4. Click **Modify** to save
5. Click **Test Connection** to verify the API key works

2. Assistant Templates

1. Go to **Home** → **Setup** → **Modules** → **AI Suite** → **Templates**
2. Create templates (Built-in templates: General Inquiry, Form Filling Assistant, Search Assistant) with their own model, prompt, rate limit, and allowed users/groups
3. Set one template as default; users with permission see a template selector in the AI panel

3. Set User Permissions

1. Navigate to: **Home** → **Setup** → **Users & Groups**
2. Edit a user or group
3. Go to the **Permissions** tab
4. Enable **AI Suite** → **Use AI Assistant**
5. Save

4. Activate API / Web services Module

1. Navigate to: **Home** → **Setup** → **Modules** → **API / Web services** → **Activate**
2. Edit a user
3. Generate Key for API
4. Save

Usage

Opening the AI Panel

1. Look for the **AI** button in the **top-right menu bar** (next to the user menu)
2. Click the button to open the AI panel
3. The panel will slide in from the right side

Chatting with the AI

1. Select a **template** from the dropdown in the panel header (e.g. General, Form Filling, Search) if your admin has configured multiple templates
2. Type your question or message in the text area at the bottom
3. Press **Enter** or click the **Send** button
4. Watch the AI response appear in real-time
5. Your **current conversation** is saved in the database and persists as you navigate; use **Clear chat** to start a new conversation (you can then switch template if needed)

Privacy & Security

• API keys are stored securely in Dolibarr's configuration (never sent to the frontend)
• Current conversation is stored in the database (per user)
• Rate limiting prevents abuse (per template when applicable)
• Your ERP database data is never sent to AI providers

API Costs

AI Suite uses your chosen provider's API (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini). Costs are based on tokens used and vary by provider and model:

A typical conversation might use 500-2000 tokens per response. Monitor your usage in your provider's dashboard.
