Overview

The Serial Numbers module extends Dolibarr's capabilities by adding comprehensive serial number tracking across your commercial documents. Efficiently manage serial numbers on quotes, orders, invoices and delivery orders with automatic propagation and intelligent validation.

Key features

• Dual entry mode : Enter serial numbers as a range (From/To) for consecutive series or as individual values separated by commas for non-consecutive numbers
• Automatic suggestion : The ✦ button automatically pre-fills the "From" field with the next available serial number (last known + 1), supporting both numeric and alphanumeric formats
• Automatic quantity calculation : Quantities adjust automatically based on the number of serial numbers entered
• Format validation : Configure custom format rules with prefix and length constraints to ensure consistency
• Free format : Disable validation to accept any alphanumeric serial number (e.g. : SN-01-000010, ASFD0002DB)
• Configurable uniqueness control : Choose between global control (all products), per-product control, or no control at all — prevent duplicates according to your workflow
• Automatic propagation : Serial numbers are automatically carried over from quotes to orders, orders to invoices, and orders to delivery orders
• Flexible cloning : Configure whether serial numbers are copied or cleared when cloning documents
• Global search interface : Quickly find any serial number across all document types — the full list is displayed without entering a filter
• Smart display : Consecutive serial numbers are automatically grouped into ranges for a cleaner presentation
• PDF integration : Serial numbers appear on generated PDF documents
• Enriched lists : Serial number column added to document lists with filtering capability
