1. Overview

The SubstitutionProducts module for Dolibarr manages your product lifecycle by defining replacement or suggestion relationships. It assists sales teams in offering the correct references based on availability or product obsolescence.

2. Key Features

  • Substitutions (Type 1): Automatically replaces an obsolete product with a new reference when adding a line to a document.
  • Equivalences (Type 0): Suggests alternatives with real-time stock display during line entry.
  • Interactive Interface: Global list featuring smart grouping of reciprocal links using the <---> symbol.
  • Traceability: Every link is tagged with the author (user) and creation date.
  • Statistics: Dashboard to monitor the most substituted products and user activity.

3. Setup

  1. Unzip the module into htdocs/custom/substitutionproducts.
  2. Enable the module in Home > Setup > Modules.
  3. Assign user permissions (Read/Create/Delete).

4. Technical Specifications

  • SQL Table: llx_substitution_links
  • Hooks: ordercard, propalcard, invoicecard.
  • AJAX: Dynamic search via Select2 and native Autocomplete.
