TakePOS wallet: prepaid balance for customers and members

Community grocery, food co-op, café, canteen… your members pay €50 in advance and spend it at the till over time? This module adds that wallet to Dolibarr, with no hacks.

• Top up from the customer or member card: amount, payment method, bank account. Balance and history (top-ups, purchases) are shown in the same place.
• At the till, a "Wallet (balance)" button appears on the TakePOS payment screen as soon as the customer has a balance.
  • If the balance covers the sale, it is paid in one click.
  • Otherwise TakePOS shows the remaining amount to pay by cash, card, etc.
  • A "Cancel" link gives the balance back.
• The balance is protected: if the cashier edits the sale, deletes it or changes the customer after using the wallet, the amount goes back to the wallet.
• Clean accounting, with no parallel logic:
  • a top-up is a paid down-payment invoice, converted into Dolibarr available credit;
  • a purchase uses that credit as a payment, with no negative line on the receipt;
  • Dolibarr lists, exports and reminders stay correct.
  • The customer's other credit notes and down payments are never touched.
• Separate permissions: see balances, top up, pay at the till.

Tested from Dolibarr 19 to 24, MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL. French, English, German. No Dolibarr file modified, no outside connection.

Tested on Dolibarr 19.0.4, 20.0.4, 21.0.4, 22.0.5, 23.0.4, 24.0.1 and 24.0.2, with PHP 8.2; syntax checked with PHP 7.4, 8.3 and 8.4.

VAT: a top-up is recorded at 0%, VAT being due at purchase time. This is the multi-purpose voucher treatment, valid when your products have different VAT rates. If all your products share the same rate (for example food only at 5.5%), the balance is a single-purpose voucher: VAT is due at top-up, and this module does not handle that case yet. Not relevant for organisations not liable for VAT. If in doubt, ask your accountant.

Limitations and exclusions

• The printed receipt shows neither the part paid with the wallet nor the remaining balance.
• Top-ups are made from the "Wallet" tab of the third-party or member card, not from the TakePOS screen.
• A top-up is always a down-payment invoice at 0% VAT: the module offers no other rate.
• One wallet per third party. A member uses the one of its linked third party; a member with no linked third party has no wallet.
• No negative balance, no balance expiry, no manual correction or refund of the balance from the module.
