TakePOSConnector: provides hardware for TakePOS
Turn your TakePOS till into a real point-of-sale terminal. TakePOSConnector connects TakePOS to the physical hardware a cash desk actually needs: a weighing scale, a thermal receipt printer, a customer-facing display, and a cash drawer. All driven over the Webapp-Hardware-Bridge (WHB), with no proprietary box required.

Key features
- Weighing scale: supports the Dialog-06 protocol (explicit request/response exchange for weight and unit price) as well as classic continuous weight transmission, covering both modern and older scale models.
- Thermal receipt printing: ESC/POS printers over WHB, including raw binary output for reliable ticket formatting. Configurable characters-per-line width per terminal, so narrow 42-column printers print as cleanly as standard 48-column ones.
- Customer display: live price feedback for the customer during checkout.
- Cash drawer: automatic opening on cash payment.
- Per-terminal configuration with inheritance: set every parameter once as a shared default, then override only what differs on a specific till. No need to repeat the same WebSocket URLs and printer settings across ten terminals.
- Live connection status: scale, display, printer, and drawer each show a connected/disconnected indicator directly in the TakePOS interface, with automatic WebSocket reconnection if a device drops.
How it connects
TakePOSConnector talks to your hardware through one of:
- the Webapp-Hardware-Bridge (WHB): WebSocket-based, recommended for scale (continuous and Dialog-06 protocols), display, printer, and drawer;
- the New TakePOS Connector PHP: HTTP-based alternative for scale (using $ protocol: ECR), display, printer and drawer;
- the TakePOS Connector Java: printer and drawer only.
Requirements
- A running instance of the Webapp-Hardware-Bridge (or the New TakePOS Connector PHP / TakePOS Connector Java, depending on the hardware path you choose).
- The TakePOS module enabled in Dolibarr.
Why TakePOSConnector
No black-box hardware terminal, no vendor lock-in: TakePOSConnector is a thin, open bridge between Dolibarr's own POS and standard hardware protocols, configurable till by till from the Dolibarr admin you already know.
