🎯 Module Overview

MBI Mass Edit Prices updates the selling prices and the supplier purchase prices of your catalogue from a single page, without opening every product record. The module adds two pages to the Products menu: one for selling prices, one for supplier purchase prices. You filter the rows to work on, enter the new values, check the result in preview, then save. It is aimed at companies running a product catalogue and revising their pricing on a regular basis.

🧭 Benefits

  • Update hundreds of prices in a few minutes, without moving from one product record to the next.
  • Check the effect of your changes before saving them: nothing is written without your confirmation.
  • Prepare your price changes in a spreadsheet, then apply them back in a single operation.
  • Put price revision in the right hands, with separate rights for selling and for purchasing.
  • Work on a controlled scope: you choose the products concerned and the number of rows displayed.

⚙️ Features

  • Mass edit of product selling prices and VAT rates, with amounts displayed excluding or including tax.
  • Mass edit of supplier purchase prices: minimum quantity, price, VAT rate, quantity discount and supplier product reference; the supplier is chosen when creating a price and cannot be changed on an existing one.
  • Creation of the first purchase prices for products that have none, or addition of a new price alongside an existing one.
  • Filters by category, product, supplier, warehouse and free text search, to target exactly the rows to work on.
  • Choice of how many rows are displayed, up to the whole selection.
  • Row by row preview before saving, showing for each row whether it will be updated, added, left as is or blocked, with the reason.
  • Summary of the number of rows loaded, valid, blocked and unchanged, displayed above the table.
  • Consistency checks before saving: numeric values, rates, supplier specified, supplier reference already in use and price combination already existing.
  • CSV export of the displayed list and re-import of the corrected file, to prepare the changes outside Dolibarr.
  • Separate rights to view and to modify, independently for selling prices and for purchase prices; without the modification right, the pages remain available in read-only mode.
  • Only the rows actually modified are submitted, and a clear error message is displayed if the data does not reach the server in full.
  • The scope covers products; services are not covered by this version.
  • On an installation with several price levels, a filter selects the level to work on, and the list, the preview, the save, the export and the import all apply to that level alone. Per-customer prices are not handled by this version.
  • On the purchase side, the list shows a single price per product/supplier pair, the most recently created one; other quantity tiers of the same supplier are not displayed, edited or exported, and disabled suppliers are not listed.

🧩 Requirements and Dependencies

  • Required: the Dolibarr Products and Suppliers modules must be enabled.
  • Required: the users concerned need the Dolibarr right to view products in order to open the pages, the right to create and modify products in order to save, and the right to view suppliers for the purchase prices page.
  • Optional: the Categories module enables the category filter; without it, that filter is reported as unavailable.
  • Optional: the Stocks module feeds the warehouse filter.

✅ Compatibility

  • Minimum Dolibarr required: 22
  • No maximum version is declared by the module. Tested version: Dolibarr 23.0
  • Module designed to fit into the standard Dolibarr interface, without overriding its core.
  • Minimum PHP required: 8.1 — the version Dolibarr 22 and later require; no maximum version is declared, and the module was tested with PHP 8.2.
  • Available languages: French, English, German, Spanish, Italian

🔧 Installation

  1. Download the ZIP archive of the module without unpacking it.
  2. In Dolibarr, go to Home > Setup > Modules/Applications.
  3. Open the Deploy/install external app/module tab.
  4. Upload the ZIP archive of the module.
  5. Search for and enable MBI Mass Edit Prices.
  6. Open the module administration page if needed. It carries three tabs: Settings (the default number of rows displayed and the threshold above which the supplier list is loaded on demand), Repair (restores supplier prices saved as 0.00 by a version up to 1.0.2) and About.
  7. Grant the required permissions to the users concerned.

For a manual installation, copy the mbimasseditprices folder into the /htdocs/custom/ directory of Dolibarr, then resume from step 5.

🚀 Getting Started

  1. Enable the module from Home > Setup > Modules/Applications.
  2. Grant the module rights to the users concerned: view and modify selling prices, view and modify purchase prices.
  3. Check that those same users hold the Dolibarr rights to view and modify products, as well as the right to view suppliers for the purchase prices page.
  4. Open the Products menu, then Mass edit selling prices or Mass edit purchase prices.
  5. Filter a few products, change one row and run the preview to check the result before saving.

🔄 Updates and Uninstallation

  • Back up the database and the Dolibarr files before any update.
  • Read the changelog, then install the new archive over the existing version.
  • Disabling the module removes its menu entries and its rights; it does not change any price.
  • The module creates no table and no data of its own: the prices it saves are stored in the standard Dolibarr tables and remain in place after the module is disabled or removed.

👨 💻 Changelog

UPDATE 1.1.0 (2026-10-13)

  • ⚠️ Action required: disable then re-enable the module after the update so that the changes brought by this version are taken into account.
  • New: on an installation with several price levels, a filter selects the selling price level to edit; the list, the preview, the save, the export and the import then apply to that level alone.
  • New: a "Repair" tab in the module setup finds the supplier prices saved as 0.00 by a previous version and restores the last known price.
  • New: on the selling price page, a filter allows the minimum selling price to be lowered along with the price.
  • New: the module "About" page shows the changelog.
  • New: the module setup offers two settings: the default number of rows displayed and the threshold above which the supplier list is loaded when the drop-down is opened instead of being repeated on every row.
  • Improved: much faster display of purchase prices on catalogues holding many supplier prices.
  • Improved: rows refused during a save are counted and reported instead of being ignored without any message.
  • Improved: the module permission labels appear translated in the permission management.
  • Improved: the German, Spanish and Italian translations get their accented characters back.
  • Improved: a save carrying no value at all says so, instead of reloading the page without a message.
  • Improved: in update mode, a row typed for a product without a purchase price is reported with its reason (creation is reserved to add mode) instead of being counted as unchanged.
  • Security: the product a save applies to is determined from the displayed row and no longer from a value sent by the form.
  • Security: the rows a save may change follow the current filters only, whatever the number of rows displayed.
  • Security: CSV exports neutralise the cells a spreadsheet would read as a formula.
  • Security: the module pages refuse direct URL access while the module is disabled.
  • Security: product labels and error messages are escaped on display, including when a label containing code reached Dolibarr through an import or another module.
  • Fixed: on an installation using the Multi-currency module, a purchase price mass save wrote 0.00 instead of the entered price.
  • Fixed: the packaging of a supplier price could be replaced by the minimum quantity during a mass edit.
  • Fixed: the minimum selling price was compared with a price including tax although it is expressed excluding tax, which wrongly refused or accepted some saves.
  • Fixed: a CSV file prepared including tax could be imported on a page displayed excluding tax, and the other way round; the import is now refused with a message.
  • Fixed: an export holding only part of the selection is no longer downloaded silently; it is refused with a message until every row is displayed.
  • Fixed: non-numeric input ("abc", "5abc", "12,34,5") in a price, a quantity, a VAT rate or a discount was saved as 0 or as a truncated number; it is now refused with a message.
  • Fixed: in a language where the comma separates thousands, English in particular, "12,5" was saved as 125; the comma is now refused there, the dot remaining the decimal separator as in the CSV export.
  • Fixed: in update mode, giving a supplier price the ref and quantity of another price of the same supplier is now refused from the preview on, instead of failing at save time on a technical error.
  • Fixed: accented characters in error messages were displayed as HTML codes.
  • Compatibility: the module now requires PHP 8.1 as a minimum, like Dolibarr 22 and later.
  • Compatibility: CSV reading and writing aligned with PHP 8.4, and a property use deprecated since PHP 8.2 removed.

UPDATE 1.0.2 (2026-09-07)

  • New: a field lets you choose how many rows are displayed, up to the whole selection.
  • Improved: the selected row count also applies to the CSV export and import.
  • Improved: a message warns when rows matching the filters are not displayed.
  • Improved: the row order stays identical between two displays for identical filters.
  • Improved: purchase prices display faster on lists holding many suppliers.
  • Improved: the row summary is now shown above the table instead of below it.
  • Fixed: on long lists, rows edited past the first ones were ignored without any message.
  • Fixed: an incomplete submission now shows an explicit error instead of saving part of the rows.

UPDATE 1.0.1 (2026-05-12)

  • New: a supplier filter on the selling prices page, applied to the list, the preview, the CSV export and import.
