New

A mistaken deletion no longer costs a database restore. Deleted records wait in a recycle bin and come back in one click, with their lines, links and attached files.

Recycle Bin for Dolibarr

In Dolibarr, deleting a customer, a product or a document is permanent. The only way back is restoring a full database backup, and the whole team loses the day's work.

This module sets the deleted record aside instead of erasing it, and puts it back in one click.

What it catches

Ten object types: third parties, contacts, products and services, quotations, sales orders, customer invoices, projects, tasks, interventions, attached files.

The capture runs inside a Dolibarr trigger, in the same transaction as the deletion. If the copy fails, the deletion is cancelled. Nothing goes without a copy.

Restoring

One click brings back the record's lines, extra fields, categories, links to other objects and attached files. The original identifier is reused when it is still free.

Before anything is written, a button runs every check of a real restore without touching the database: content integrity, identifier still free, reference available, linked objects still present, files intact, permissions. Conflicts appear on screen before you confirm. If a linked object is in the bin too, it can be restored in cascade.

Retention and purge

Retention is set per object type, 30 days by default. A daily scheduled job erases what has expired. Manual purge needs its own permission, and the confirmation names what is about to go.

Bulk deletes

Above a threshold you set (25 by default), a bulk delete is blocked or requires a second confirmation. Blocked attempts are recorded.

Log

Every deletion, restore, purge and blocked attempt is recorded with date, user, IP address and context. CSV export.

Never more than one click away

A Recycle bin tab in the top navigation bar, a counter icon on every page showing how many items are recoverable, and an Undo link in the message that follows a deletion — right where the mistake just happened.

What it does not do, stated upfront

It restores the invoice, not its payments, its accounting entries or its stock movements. The screen says so before you validate.

It cannot catch deletions made in direct SQL, nor those coming from third-party code that bypasses Dolibarr triggers. The setup page lists the installed modules that do this, by name.

It captures on deletion, not on every change. This is a recycle bin, not a version history.

Not covered in version 1: supplier documents, members, shipments, contracts, expense reports, tickets.

Technical

Installed, activated and opened screen by screen on Dolibarr 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23, on a clean install of each. PHP 7.4 to 8.3, MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL. Multi-company aware: every screen, counter and export is filtered by entity, and the purge job applies each entity's own retention.

Two tables added. No core file modified, no external service contacted, nothing leaves your server. English and French included. Support included, updates for 2 years.

One backup restore costs your team a day. The module costs €79.

Installation: Home > Setup > Modules > Deploy external module, upload the zip, enable Recycle Bin.
