🎯 Module Overview
MBI Calls OVH connects your OVH VoIP Entreprise phone system to Dolibarr so that every call, voicemail message and SMS is handled from your CRM, with the caller identified before you even pick up. Incoming, outgoing and internal calls appear in real time in the Dolibarr interface, are automatically linked to the third party or contact recognised from the phone number, and remain available as history, statistics and agenda events. The module also collects your OVH voicemail messages with their transcription, places outgoing calls in one click from any phone number displayed in Dolibarr, and sends SMS messages through the OVH API. It is designed for sales, order management and support teams who work on the phone from Dolibarr and whose telephony is hosted at OVH.
An OVH VoIP Entreprise phone service is required: the module works with no other phone provider. You also need an OVH CTI event token for the real-time display, a set of OVH REST API credentials (application key, application secret and consumer key) for voicemail, Click-to-Call and SMS, the Eldy theme for the call dropdown menu, and the Dolibarr scheduled jobs actually running for voicemail collection, SMS delivery tracking and e-mail reminder digests.

💡 Benefits
- Centralise your entire OVH phone activity inside Dolibarr, with no more switching between the phone system and the CRM.
- Identify the caller, third party or contact, the moment the phone rings, so your teams answer faster and in a personalised way.
- Call back, listen to a voicemail message or send an SMS in a single click, straight from the record you are already looking at.
- Never lose a follow-up thanks to call reasons, scheduled callback reminders, e-mail digests and voicemail transcriptions you can read at a glance.
- Steer your sales and support activity from consolidated statistics, an exportable call history and a complete SMS log.
⚙️ Key Features
📞 Real-time call display
- Phone icon in the top bar: opens a panel listing the latest calls, with date, formatted number, country flag, recognised third party or contact, duration and a status badge for ongoing, answered and missed calls.
- Active call card: an incoming call raises an on-screen card with the caller name, a link to the record and an automatic closing countdown, plus a desktop notification in the browser.
- Per-user filter: show all calls, missed calls only, or the calls of a user linked to a line; the choice is remembered from one session to the next.
- Progressive loading: a "load more" button extends the list step by step, and a waiting-queue counter is displayed at the bottom of the panel.
- Light on the browser: only one tab listens to the OVH event stream at a time and shares what it receives with the others.
- No stuck calls: calls that ring without ever being connected are closed automatically after a grace period.
🔗 Automatic linking to third parties and contacts
- Caller recognition: each incoming call is matched against contact phone numbers, professional, personal and mobile, then against third-party landline and mobile numbers, and is linked to whatever is found.
- Tolerant matching: national form, international prefixes, spaces, dots, dashes and brackets are all handled.
- Second chance: unidentified calls are re-examined regularly and linked as soon as a matching record appears; a call can also be assigned manually, with the best matching third party suggested automatically.
- "Calls" tab on the third party: with the number of calls as a badge and a paginated, sortable list.
🖱️ Click-to-Call, lines and users
- Every number becomes clickable: third parties, contacts, members, users, projects, invoices, orders and more. List views, fax numbers and e-mail, PDF or ODT substitution variables are deliberately left untouched.
- Native OVH dialling: the call is placed from the server through the OVH API, from the line linked to the user: the user's handset rings first, then the correspondent is dialled. Optional automatic pick-up on speaker, known as intercom, is available on compatible handsets.
- Safe fallback: when native OVH Click-to-Call is not available, the module falls back to the standard Dolibarr click-to-dial URL, without double dialling.
- User / line mapping: each Dolibarr user can be linked to an agent phone number, which filters the dropdown panel, determines the OVH line used for Click-to-Call and attributes calls in the statistics.
- Outgoing numbers: declared in the settings and used to tell the direction of a call throughout the module. A call presented on several handsets is attributed to the one that actually answers.
📬 Voicemail and transcription
- Automatic collection: OVH voicemail messages are retrieved for the lines you select and stored in Dolibarr, then matched with the corresponding missed call and with the third party and contact recognised from the caller number.
- Transcription: the text transcription produced by OVH is retrieved as an option, including when it only becomes available several minutes after the message, and is cleaned up to be readable in one block.
- Audio retention: as an option, the MP3 file is kept in the module document directory so messages can be replayed without contacting OVH again, and the message can be removed from the OVH voicemail box once safely imported.
- Dedicated voicemail page: key indicators (unheard, total, average duration, transcribed), filters by line, listened status and date, and a search covering the number, the company and the transcription text.
- Waveform player: move freely inside a message, and download the MP3 file.
- Unheard badge and panel: a badge on the top-bar phone icon and a voicemail tab in the dropdown listing the latest messages with an expandable transcription extract, a call-back button and a desktop notification on arrival.
- Listened status and deletion: messages are marked as listened automatically when playback actually starts, the mark can be reversed manually, deletion is governed by its own permission, and an administrator can empty the voicemail box of a whole line in one operation.
💬 SMS through the OVH API
- Send an SMS from any number: clicking a phone number offers to call or to send an SMS, the second option opening a composition window.
- Live counter: characters, billable messages and encoding in use, computed identically in the browser and on the server.
- SMS templates: managed from a dedicated administration tab, with creation, edit, deletion, preview and a segment counter for each template.
- Substitution variables: third-party name, customer code, e-mail, phone, town, contact title, first and last name, additional third-party fields, replaced at sending time according to the third party and contact linked to the number.
- Clean sending: recipient numbers are normalised to the international format, and a recipient refused by OVH is never counted as sent.
- Full SMS log: filters by sending status, delivery status and dates, search on number, text, third party and contact, the recipient resolved to a third party or contact whenever known, and the error message in case of failure.
- Delivery tracking: the acknowledgement of receipt is queried from OVH and displayed as a badge: awaiting acknowledgement, delivered, not delivered, or no acknowledgement available.
- Credit balance: the remaining SMS credits are shown in the settings, in the diagnostics tab and in the composition window, and can be refreshed on demand. An SMS tab in the dropdown panel lists the latest messages sent.
⏰ Call reasons and callback reminders
- Call reason: a free-text reason can be entered on every call, from the dropdown panel, from the third-party Calls tab or from the home page widget.
- Callback reminder: the same window schedules a notification with a due date and an assigned user; without an explicit choice, the reminder goes to the current user.
- Follow-up: due reminders appear in a dedicated widget where they can be closed, and an option sends each user an e-mail digest of the reminders that have fallen due.
📊 Statistics, export and home page widgets
- Statistics page: total number of calls, answer rate, average duration, average waiting time and the incoming / outgoing breakdown for the period and filters of your choice.
- Filters and histograms: start and end dates, search by number or company, direction, status and user, with the distribution per day and per user.
- CSV export: the detailed call list of the period, ready for a spreadsheet, with date, direction, number, third party, line, status, duration in seconds, reason and user.
- Home page widgets: call history with country flag, third party, status, duration, reason and call-back button; numbers to call back, closable on the spot; call queue statistics of the day (answered and lost calls, answer rate, average waiting time, average duration and breakdown per user).
- Open objects dashboard: a dedicated block shows the calls of the last 24 hours and the missed calls.
🛡️ Security and architecture
- Multi-entity: calls, OVH events, voicemail messages, SMS messages and SMS templates are recorded in the current entity and every read follows the Dolibarr entity scope, so the sharing configured in multi-company is respected. Settings, line discovery, SMS service discovery and voicemail audio files are kept per entity.
- Permissions: five separate permissions, access all calls, access only your own calls and missed calls, view voicemail messages, delete voicemail messages, and send SMS messages. The "own calls only" permission genuinely restricts the data served, in the dropdown panel, in the statistics and in the SMS log.
- Credentials kept on the server: the OVH REST API credentials are never sent to the browser, every REST call is made from the server, the application secret and the consumer key are never displayed again in the settings form, and leaving a field empty keeps the stored value.
- Protected entry points: sensitive operations verify the user permission and the Dolibarr anti-CSRF token, and the entry points called by OVH without a Dolibarr session are protected by a secret key generated at installation. SMS sending, composition and credit balance are refused to external users attached to a third party.
- Administration and diagnostics: settings organised in clear sections, a diagnostics tab reserved to administrators that checks the Click-to-Call readiness point by point, reports the state of SMS delivery tracking and of the related scheduled task, shows the credit balance and offers a free check of the API key permissions, a labelled test SMS and a re-read of its delivery status, plus a step-by-step installation guide, a version history and an "About" page in the user language.
🆕 Recent updates (2.9.1 / 2.9.0 / 2.8.0)
- A call offered to several users is now attributed to whoever actually answers it, which corrects the name shown in the call list, the "own calls" scope, the per-user statistics and the default user suggested for callback reminders.
- SMS delivery tracking was introduced: every sent SMS shows its status, awaiting receipt, delivered or not delivered, in the SMS log and in the calls dropdown, updated automatically by the scheduled job through the OVH API.
- A "Diagnostics" tab groups the delivery-tracking test, the scheduled job state, the Click-to-Call readiness checklist and the remaining SMS credits, with a live balance refresh.
- Call statuses are shown as unified coloured chips, in progress, answered and missed, across the dropdown, the home widget, the third-party Calls tab and the statistics page, and a "Call back" button is available on voicemail messages and on sent SMS.
- SMS reliability was hardened: the text is sent exactly as typed, template variables are correctly substituted, the segment count is exact even with modern emojis, a message rejected by OVH is no longer counted as sent, and a per-record access check prevents a user restricted to their own portfolio from reading an arbitrary third party through the substitution variables.
- German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese translations caught up with the whole SMS and diagnostics set.
✅ Compatibility
- Dolibarr: 12.0+ (no maximum version declared, tested up to Dolibarr 23)
- PHP: 8.0+
- Theme: the Eldy theme is required, the call dropdown menu only works with that theme.
- OVH VoIP Entreprise phone service: required, the module works with no other phone provider.
- OVH CTI event token: required for the real-time display. Depending on the endpoint used to generate it, a billing account token covers all lines, incoming, outgoing and internal, while a switchboard token only reports incoming calls.
- OVH REST API credentials: required for voicemail, Click-to-Call and SMS, with application key, application secret and consumer key. The key permissions must cover telephony consultation, voicemail message deletion, Click-to-Call dialling, SMS service consultation and SMS sending.
- Dolibarr scheduled jobs: required for voicemail, SMS delivery tracking and e-mail reminder digests, with a system cron that actually runs the Dolibarr scheduler.
- Dolibarr Agenda module: optional, required for the automatic agenda event created after an answered call and after an SMS is sent.
- Browser desktop notifications: optional, to be authorised by each user for incoming call and new voicemail alerts.
- Licence activation: required. The settings screens, the dropdown menu, the Click-to-Call links and SMS sending are refused until the module is activated.
- Interface languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. The licence and activation screen is translated into English and French only.
- No other Dolibarr module is required, and no incompatibility is declared. The module blends into the standard Dolibarr interface: top bar, third-party card, home page widgets and administration pages.
Module version: auto
Publisher/Licence: MB Informatique / GPL-v3
User interface language: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese
Help/Support: MB Informatique
Prerequisites:
- Dolibarr min version: auto
- Dolibarr max version: auto

🔧 Installation
- Download the module's ZIP archive without extracting it.
- In Dolibarr, go to Home > Setup > Modules/Applications, then open the Deploy/Install external module tab and upload the archive.
- Find and enable MBI Calls OVH in the modules list.
- Open the module administration page and activate it with your order reference: the settings stay closed until activation is complete.
- Follow the Installation tab to obtain your OVH CTI event token and your OVH REST API credentials, enter them in the settings, declare your outgoing numbers and map each Dolibarr user to their agent phone number, then enable the features you need: voicemail with its lines, transcription and audio retention, native OVH Click-to-Call, OVH SMS with its service, sender and templates.
- Grant the required permissions to the relevant users: access to all calls or to their own calls only, voicemail viewing and deletion, SMS sending.
- (Optional) Check that the Dolibarr scheduled jobs are enabled and that the system cron actually runs them, as voicemail collection, SMS delivery tracking and e-mail reminder digests depend on it, then open the Diagnostics tab to confirm that everything is ready.
- (Optional) For a manual installation, copy the module directory into /htdocs/custom/ so that it is named exactly mbicalls, then enable the module from the modules list.
ℹ️ Usage notes
- An OVH VoIP Entreprise phone service is mandatory: the module works with no other phone provider.
- The call dropdown menu only works with the Eldy theme.
- Depending on the endpoint used to generate the OVH CTI event token, a billing account token covers all lines, incoming, outgoing and internal, while a switchboard token only reports incoming calls.
- The OVH REST API key permissions must cover telephony consultation, voicemail message deletion, Click-to-Call dialling, SMS service consultation and SMS sending, otherwise voicemail, Click-to-Call or SMS will be refused by OVH.
- Voicemail collection, SMS delivery tracking and e-mail reminder digests rely on the Dolibarr scheduled jobs module and on a system cron that actually runs the scheduler.
- Desktop notifications for incoming calls and new voicemail messages have to be authorised by each user in their browser.
- Place a test call after the setup and check that it appears in the dropdown panel with the caller identified.
- Back up the database and the Dolibarr files before any update, and read the ChangeLog: some versions require disabling and re-enabling the module to take effect, which is stated explicitly at the top of the version concerned. After an update, disabling and re-enabling the module is recommended, as new permissions, widgets, scheduled jobs and integrations are only registered at that point; the Diagnostics tab reports this situation explicitly.
- Disabling the module releases its licence, then removes its permissions, widgets, menus and scheduled jobs. It always succeeds, even if the activation service cannot be reached.
- The data created by the module is kept: calls, OVH events, voicemail messages, SMS log, SMS templates, downloaded audio files and functional settings all remain after the module is disabled or its files are deleted. The only bulk deletion offered by the interface is the "clear call history" action, which is limited to the call history.
🎓 Services
- Training on the module is available at €80 excl. VAT.
- Support and updates included for the duration of your license.

🛠 CHANGELOG
UPDATE 2.9.1 (2026-07-20)
- Fixed: A call offered to several users is now attributed to whoever actually answers it, instead of the first user rung — this corrects the name shown in the call list, the "own calls" scope, the per-user statistics and the default user suggested for callback reminders.
UPDATE 2.9.0 (2026-07-18)
- New: "Call back" button on every SMS of the calls dropdown too, like the voicemail panel.
- New: Remaining SMS credits shown in the Diagnostic tab, with a live balance refresh.
- Improvement: Call statuses as coloured round chips - in progress (blue, animated), answered (green), missed (red) - unified across the dropdown, the home widget, the third-party Calls tab and the statistics page.
- Improvement: Diagnostic buttons use the standard Dolibarr style and are better arranged.
- Improvement: The delivery badge now replaces "Sent" instead of stacking below it ("Delivered" already implies sent); "Sent" only remains on rows without tracking.
- Fix: SMS text is now sent exactly as typed - characters like <, > and double quotes were silently stripped before sending.
- Fix: "Link to a third party" button no longer breaks in French (apostrophe in a JS attribute), and multi-line call reasons keep their line breaks.
- Fix: An SMS sent from the call-history number is now linked to the right third party (substitution variables and log).
- Fix: The scheduled job also replays the voicemail schema migration on file-copy updates (audio/deletion queues could stay silently dead).
- Fix: Blacklisted-caller alert e-mail was sent with raw translation keys.
- Fix: The "Call / Send an SMS" choice menu no longer opens off-screen near the right edge; white close icon on the reason/reminder dialogs.
- Fix: Module CSS no longer overrides the Dolibarr core icon width on every page; various CSS clean-ups.
- Fix: Various calls-dropdown display tweaks (centred "Call back" buttons, date no longer truncated, duration placed before the status chip, no more underline on hover).
- Translations: German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese catch up with the whole SMS/diagnostic set; several raw labels fixed (Statistics page, OVH debug page, setup).
UPDATE 2.8.0 (2026-07-17)
- New: SMS delivery tracking - every sent SMS shows its status (Awaiting receipt, Delivered, Not delivered) in the SMS log and the calls dropdown, updated automatically by the scheduled job through the OVH API.
- New: "Diagnostics" tab in the module setup, grouping the delivery-tracking test (consumer key rights / send a test SMS / read its status), the scheduled job state and the Click-to-Call readiness checklist.
- New: "Call back" button on voicemail messages (dropdown panel and Voicemail page) to call the caller back in one click.
- Fixed: an SMS rejected by OVH (invalid recipient) is no longer counted as sent nor logged as delivered, and no agenda event is created for it.
- Fixed: SMS template variables (third party, contact, extrafields) are now correctly substituted at send time - they used to reach the recipient verbatim.
- Fixed: exact segment count for messages containing modern (beyond-BMP) emojis.
- Security: per-record access check when sending an SMS - a user restricted to their own portfolio can no longer read an arbitrary third party through the substitution variables.
UPDATE 2.7.0 (2026-07-16)
- ⚠️ Action required: disable then re-enable the module after updating (new SMS tables, hook and menu).
- New: Send SMS through OVH directly from Dolibarr - click a phone number and choose "Call" or "Send an SMS".
- New: SMS templates with a live character/segment counter and native Dolibarr substitution variables (__THIRDPARTY_NAME__...), managed from a dedicated setup tab.
- New: "SMS" tab in the calls dropdown listing the SMS you sent, with a "+" button opening the full "Sent SMS" page.
- Changed: the Statistics, Voicemail and Sent SMS pages are reached from the calls dropdown (chart button / "+" button) instead of the Third-parties left menu.
- New: SMS settings section - enable SMS, auto-discovered OVH service and sender, and a connection test. Reuses the OVH REST keys (needs the POST /sms/* right).

- ⚠️ Action required: disable then re-enable the module after updating, so the Click-to-Call hook applies to every page.
- New: The Click-to-Call link now appears on every phone number across Dolibarr - all record cards and banners (third parties, contacts, members, users, projects, invoices, orders...), not only the third-party card. Lists keep their native display; fax numbers and email/PDF merge fields are left untouched.
UPDATE 2.6.0 (2026-07-15)
