Description & Fonctionnalités

Move away from Sage gradually or all at once, without losing your history or control over your accounting. NextMigrate for Sage is a professional Dolibarr module published by NEXT GESTION that analyzes your Sage exports, transforms and checks them, simulates the migration, imports the data into Dolibarr, then reconciles Sage and Dolibarr to prove the migration is consistent.

This is not just another CSV importer: it is a complete migration platform, designed for businesses, integrators and accounting firms.

Why choose NextMigrate for Sage?

  • Multi-product Sage support: adapter-based architecture for Sage 50, Sage 100, Sage 200, Sage 300, Sage Active, Sage Business Cloud Accounting, Sage Intacct and Sage X3, plus generic CSV / Excel connectors and the FEC format.
  • Import Center: drag and drop your CSV, TXT, XLS, XLSX or ZIP files; the module automatically detects encoding, separator, columns and data type, with a confidence score.
  • Mandatory simulation (dry run) before any real import: rows to create, rows to update, existing rows, warnings, errors and duplicates.
  • Uncompromising accounting integrity: no invented amounts, no artificially balanced entries, no silent corrections. Every anomaly is detected, displayed and documented.
  • Sage / Dolibarr reconciliation, account-by-account balance check and PDF audit report.
  • Interface available in 5 languages: French, English, German, Italian and Spanish.

Three operating modes

  • Sage → Dolibarr migration: full or phased migration, with a 12-step wizard that follows the dependency order (chart of accounts, taxes, journals, third parties, products, documents, payments, entries).
  • Sage file import: import your exports (lists, reports, entries, trial balances, general ledger…) with visual mapping and reusable templates.
  • API synchronization: connectors for Sage products that offer an official API (REST, GraphQL or Web Services, OAuth 2.0). Each synchronization direction (Sage → Dolibarr, Dolibarr → Sage) is enabled per data type; the Dolibarr → Sage direction is disabled by default.

Sage Import Center

  • Drag-and-drop upload, ZIP archives accepted (disallowed files inside the archive are skipped with a warning).
  • File Inspector: encoding (UTF-8, Windows-1252, ISO-8859-1, UTF-16…), separator (, ; tab |), row and column counts, headers, date and decimal formats, currencies, empty values, duplicates, debit / credit totals.
  • Automatic type detection: customers, suppliers, contacts, products, stock, quotes, orders, invoices, credit notes, payments, banks, chart of accounts, journals, entries, trial balance, subsidiary (aged) ledger balance, general ledger, fixed assets, cost accounting…
  • Built-in Excel XLSX reader, streaming, with no external library; formulas are never executed.
  • Large volumes processed in batches, with a queue, checkpoints and a scheduled job.

Visual mapping and transformation engine

  • "Sage column → Dolibarr field" screen with auto-mapping, manual mapping, ignored columns, fixed values and concatenation.
  • Mapping templates that can be saved (e.g. "Sage 100 Customers") and are recognized automatically the next time the same file is imported.
  • Transformations: trim, upper / lower case, date and decimal conversion, replace, regular expression, split, default value, booleans, dictionary (e.g. C → Customer, F → Supplier).
  • Configurable rules engine (e.g. account starting with 411 → customer, journal VE → sales).
  • Import options per data type: update existing records, keep Sage numbers, validate documents, policy for unbalanced entries, and more.

Business data migrated

  • Third parties: customers, prospects, suppliers, customer-suppliers (codes, company name, addresses, phone numbers, email, website, EU VAT number, SIREN / SIRET, accounting accounts, payment terms and methods, currency, sales representative, notes).
  • Contacts linked to their third party.
  • Products and services: reference, barcode, labels, selling and purchase prices, cost, VAT, unit, weight, categories (families and sub-families), supplier prices.
  • Warehouses and stock per warehouse, lots and serial numbers when the corresponding Dolibarr module is enabled.
  • Sales: quotes, customer orders, customer invoices and credit notes (linked to the original invoice when the information exists), due dates, migration of open invoices.
  • Purchasing: supplier orders and invoices.
  • Customer and supplier payments (check, cash, transfer, card, direct debit, bill of exchange…) with protection against duplicate payments.
  • Banks: accounts (IBAN / BIC validated) and transactions; a transaction is never marked as reconciled without reliable data.

Sage Accounting Migration Center

  • Chart of accounts, journals (VE, AC, BQ, CA, OD, AN…) and fiscal years; imports into a closed fiscal year are refused.
  • Accounting entries (including FEC) into Dolibarr's double-entry accounting: date, journal, document number, account, subsidiary account, label, debit, credit, lettering, due date, currency.
  • Debit = credit check per entry and per batch, with configurable tolerance: the batch is blocked or unbalanced entries are isolated, and the difference is always displayed.
  • VAT code mapping from Sage to Dolibarr rates (CSV import available).
  • Trial balance, subsidiary (aged) ledger balance and Grand Ledger Analyzer: analysis of accounts, entries, balances and breaks in running balances.
  • Lettering/matching: Sage codes preserved, matching suggestions and traceable removal of imported lettering.
  • Opening balances wizard: carries forward opening balances at the cut-over date, only if the trial balance is balanced.
  • Two strategies explained: full historical migration or balance carry-forward, with fiscal year selection.
  • Cost accounting (to projects or categories) and fixed asset analysis, with no invented mappings.
  • Sage Archive Viewer: consult legacy reports (general ledger, trial balance) without injecting them into live accounting.
  • Accountant mode and a simplified standard user mode (Import, Analyze, Fix, Validate).

Reconciliation, validation and audit

  • Accounting Reconciliation Engine: Sage | Dolibarr | Difference table for volumes, revenue, purchases, VAT, customers, suppliers, banks, totals and net income.
  • Account-by-account Balance Check.
  • Migration Readiness: percentage per area, remaining anomalies and status "Migration not yet validated" or "Migration technically validated".
  • Cut-over checklist (Sage backup, archived exports, master data, trial balance, banks, training…).
  • PDF migration report: source, period, volumes, errors, checks, trial balance, differences, validating user and date.

Dashboard, errors and reporting

  • Sage Migration Control Center: overall progress, migrated customers, suppliers, products, invoices and entries, completed or failed imports, critical errors, duplicates, accounting difference, latest import.
  • Error Center: row-level errors with actions (create, map, ignore, fix, retry) and bulk correction (e.g. all "TVA20" rows → 20% VAT).
  • Export errors to CSV and Excel for correction and re-import.
  • Reporting by area, complete and traceable migration log, environment diagnostics page.
  • Safe import rollback: never on a validated or lettered entry, nor on an object modified after the import.
  • Idempotency: re-importing the same file creates no duplicates (file and row fingerprints).
  • Generate and delete demo data without touching real data.

Security

  • Protection against CSRF, XSS and SQL injection, with permission checks on every action.
  • Uploaded file checks: extensions, MIME type, size, executable content, zip bombs, path traversal.
  • Formula injection neutralized in CSV exports; Excel formulas are never executed.
  • API connection secrets encrypted and never logged.
  • 15 dedicated permissions (import per area, accounting validation, rollback, API, administration…).

Compatibility

Item Status
Dolibarr 18.0.10 (PHP 8.1, MySQL 8.4) Tested
Dolibarr 22.0.5 (PHP 8.3, MySQL 8.4) Tested
Dolibarr 24.0.1 (PHP 8.3, MySQL 8.4) Tested

Testing performed: automated suite (unit and integration tests), acceptance testing of every page on the three tested versions, import of 100,000 third parties with interruption and resume. Sage imports were validated on representative fictitious export files; the API connectors are based on Sage's public documentation and must be validated on the customer's Sage instance. No changes to the Dolibarr core.

FAQ

Which Sage versions are supported?
Any version that can export its data to CSV, Excel, TXT or FEC. API connectors are provided for Sage Business Cloud Accounting, Sage Active, Sage Intacct, Sage X3, Sage 200 and Sage 300.

Do I need to migrate my entire history?
No. You can choose a full historical migration or a simple balance carry-forward with open documents; the wizard explains the consequences of each choice.

What happens if my entries are unbalanced?
Depending on your configuration, the batch is blocked or the affected entries are isolated. The difference is displayed; nothing is corrected automatically.

Can I import the same file twice?
The module recognizes an already imported file and creates no duplicates.

Can I undo an import?
Yes, when it is safe: validated or lettered entries and objects modified after the import are protected.

Are large volumes supported?
Yes: background batch processing, with automatic resume after an interruption.

Are my Excel files safe?
Formulas are never executed and uploaded content is checked.

Is migration validation a certification?
No. It indicates that the configured technical checks are satisfied; it does not replace validation by your accountant.
